Since joining ABA in 2016, Julio has worked on residential, mixed-use and cultural developments for a variety of cities including London, Cambridge and Vancouver, as well as several competitions. He is currently coordinating our IT development and requirements across the office. Julio is extremely passionate about new tools and technologies in the fields of design, visualization, virtual reality, scripting and project management. Julio is technically extremely profecient at 3D development through Rhino and Revit, and has extensive experience working with BIM. He is currently involved in the development of the office standards to ensure that ABA are constantly improving the way we deliver projects.
Prior to joining ABA, Julio worked for several leading architectural practices in London, Madrid and Caracas, including Heatherwick Studio, Flanagan Lawrence, Ensamble Studio and Makowski & Dojc. He gained extensive and valuable experience while working on several high-profile projects with a high degree of complexity, where he learned how to optimise complex geometries and workflows.
Julio completed his architectural studies at the Central University of Venezuela where he received a distinction for his thesis, which examined the connection between experience, memories and the design process. While completing his studies, he also assisted the architectural school in several courses where his design, scripting and software development knowledge were required.
